Ecotourism: How to be a better eco-tourist?
Adventure Sports Innovation and our partners in the Swincar North America network are working hard to introduce exciting yet eco-friendly adventures. In an on-going series, we’ll be sharing some pointers on how adventurers can be more eco-conscious during their travels and adventures.
1. Look off-the-beaten path and think outside the box.
While everyone should see the Grand Canyon at some point, humans can significantly decrease our impact on beautiful places by not concentrating all of our excitement, interest, and travel dollars on just a few destinations. So ditch the crowds and look for hidden gems – like Chattanooga TN, Whitesburg GA, or Broken Bow OK – where you’re going to have incredible experiences and see beautiful things, without bumping elbows with thousands of new friends.
Similarly, look for activities that are new and different. Try trading your annual ATV tour for a Swincar e-Spider tour! Or, instead of renting jet-skis at a crowded beach, learn to ride e-foil surfboards on a lake or river (check out Lift.com for affiliate locations). Or instead of a bus tour of a city, look for an e-scooter or e-bike tour at your destination. In all of these scenarios you’re going to avoid crowds, reduce your travel footprint, try something new, and ultimately get a much better view of your destination.
